Simplified Wardrobe: One Sweater, Three Ways

pinksweater_spring copyHello, friends! Does anyone remember Facebook circa 2004 when it was still “The Facebook” and everyone needed a college email address to sign up? Remember Facebook Flair and all the different groups people could join? These weren’t like the groups we have now. They were fun things like, “Pink is my favorite color,” and “Leopard is a Neutral,” and “Capsule Wardrobes are the best.” Actually, I made up the last two, but if this were Facebook in the early 2000’s, those would be the groups I would want to join. All of those sentiments are true and have helped me simplify my wardrobe, which has helped simplify my life.

There are so many great resources dedicated to capsule wardrobes, and I look forward to sharing more in the coming weeks. In the meantime, here is a peek at one of my favorite versatile items.

This pink swing tunic sweater from Loft has been a great staple this winter (and it’s on sale right now!) A bright pink sweater has been on my list for a while now, so I was really pleased to find this one day in the store for a great price. It has been a versatile addition to my wardrobe.  Here are three fun ways to wear it.

Option 1: Casual

Possibly the easiest way to wear this sweater is to keep it casual. It can be paired with cute jeans and booties or even flats. Because of the looser style, it also works with leggings and rain boots or skinny jeans and cowboy boots. {Jeans: J. Crew; boots: Lucky Brand via Nordstrom; necklace: The Y’all Book}

Option 2: Dress it up!

Another great way to wear this sweater is to dress it up. Pair it  with skinny (non-denim) black pants, leopard print heels (my personal favorite), and a necklace, and you are ready to go. {Pants: Ralph Lauren via Belk, necklace: Cabi, heels: Mossimo for Target (old)}

Option 3: Get Ready for Spring

With spring and its unpredictable weather, it’s great to have a few sweaters on hand until warm temperatures arrive to stay. Pairing this with white jeans and a lighter shoe changes the whole look, and is a perfect look to transition from winter to spring. The white jeans combo could also be combined with any of the shoes featured above for a different look. {Jeans: Loft, heels: Michael Kors via Marshall’s, sandals: Tory Burch; sunglasses: Betsey Johnson via Marshall’s; earrings: Noonday Collection}

So, there are just a few ways to incorporate this versatile piece. Do you have a capsule wardrobe? What are your go-to items?
