Five Great Reasons to Visit The Muse Knoxville

If you are looking for a unique, fun, and educational indoor activity for children ages one to 100, The Muse may be just what you need.  The non-profit facility is Knoxville’s only children’s science museum, with a lot of great activities packed into one location. Every inch of the 4,000 square foot building is utilized to the greatest capacity to create a wonderful and educational experience for all ages. The space continues to grow,  with the addition of two new exhibits in 2016, and the recent expansion of its planetarium program.

We recently spent an afternoon at The Muse and found the new additions and continual improvements impressive. If you are considering a trip, here are five great reasons to visit.Stem Station

Stem Station–  According to the Muse’s website, The STEM station is “an obstacle course for the mind.” With multiple interactive exhibits, visitors eight years old and older can explore a variety of hands-on topics. Guests can enhance Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math skills by  building and launching air rockets, learning about pressure systems, creating circuits, designing their own magnetic structures, or building and propelling air cars.

St. Patrick’s Day is such a fun holiday to celebrate with children each year. Like many families, we enjoy dressing up in green, eating green food, and enjoying corned beef and cabbage. (We have also been known to break out into an impromptu Irish step dance party in the living room.)  This year’s celebration included simple kid-friendly treats and an easy traditional dinner.  Everyone seemed to enjoy this stress-free take on the menu, so I thought I would share a few ideas.
